The Cleveland community is deeply mourning the loss of Andrew Carroll, a beloved junior at Bradley Central High School, whose life was tragically cut short in a recent car accident. Andrew’s passing has left a profound void among family, friends, classmates, and teachers who knew him as a young man of kindness, character, and quiet strength.
Andrew was the son of Jonathan and Holly Carroll and was highly regarded for both his academic achievements and his personal qualities. In recognition of his dedication and positive influence, he was named The Town Squire High School Student of the Month for September. This honor reflected the respect he earned from his teachers and peers, highlighting his leadership and compassionate nature.
His grandfather, Dennis L. Carroll, shared an emotionally charged tribute, describing the devastation felt by the Carroll and Mowery families. He spoke of Andrew as his lifelong “sidekick” and expressed the profound pain of losing someone so dearly loved. His words conveyed the raw grief of a close-knit family and included a heartfelt plea for prayers as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
Andrew’s impact extended beyond academics. He was an active member of the Bradley Central football team, where he was more than just a player — he was a teammate and a brother. The team issued a heartfelt statement, “Once a Bear, Always a Bear,” expressing condolences to Andrew’s family and paying tribute to his pride and integrity as a member of their community.
Tributes also poured in from Michigan Avenue Elementary School, where Andrew was a former student. Teachers and staff remembered him as a rare light—brilliantly smart, deeply kind, and wise beyond his years. Even as a young child, Andrew’s calm presence, warmth, and “old soul” made others feel safe and welcomed. His ability to bring comfort simply by being himself left a lasting impression on everyone he touched.
Andrew Carroll will be remembered as more than a student or athlete. He was a son, grandson, friend, and a young man whose compassion and spirit left an indelible mark. His legacy of kindness, love, and quiet leadership will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. As Cleveland continues to grieve, prayers and support remain with the Carroll family, honoring a life that, though brief, made a lasting and meaningful impact.
