The Livingston Parish community, along with loved ones near and far, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Cayden Callihan, an 18-year-old from North Carolina whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating two-vehicle crash late Friday night, January 30. Cayden’s death has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Around midnight on January 30, 2026, Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a serious crash at the intersection of LA 1032 and Hunter’s Way in Livingston Parish. The preliminary investigation indicates that Cayden was driving a 2008 Honda Accord east on Hunter’s Way when the collision occurred. At the same time, a 2022 Ford F-150 was traveling south on LA 1032.

For reasons still under investigation, Cayden attempted to make a left turn onto LA 1032 and entered the path of the Ford. The Ford struck the Honda on its left side, resulting in a severe crash. Cayden, who was properly restrained, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, also properly restrained, sustained minor injuries. Initial findings suggest impairment was not a factor, but routine toxicology samples will be obtained and sent for analysis to confirm.

This tragic accident has shocked the Livingston Parish community and highlights the importance of road safety. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward. The loss of Cayden Callihan is deeply felt, and his family and friends are struggling to cope with this unimaginable grief.
