Chicago police are seeking public assistance in locating Michelle Grace, a 58-year-old woman who has been missing for nearly two months. Last seen on December 7, 2025, Grace disappeared after leaving a residence in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, an area that has seen an increase in missing person reports lately. Her disappearance is now classified as a high-priority case by the Chicago Police Department.
Grace was last spotted on the 0-100 block of South Albany Avenue. She is described as a Black woman standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 190 pounds. She has brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion. Distinctively, she has a tattoo on her lower back that reads “JOE PROPERTY,” which detectives are using as a key identifying feature.
Area 4 Special Victims Unit detectives are leading the investigation into her disappearance. The neighborhood where she was last seen has been under scrutiny as local residents and community activists express concern about safety and the rising number of missing person cases over the past six months. Just blocks from where Grace was last seen, police recently investigated a separate disappearance involving a local man, who was later found safe, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in the area.
Neighbors describe the block as a busy residential area with frequent foot traffic, making it difficult to determine what might have happened. Authorities are actively canvassing nearby businesses for security footage from early December in hopes of finding clues.
The police urge anyone who may have seen or spoken with Grace on the day she went missing to come forward. Even the smallest detail could be crucial in locating her and reuniting her with her loved ones.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Area 4 SVU Detective Division at 312-746-8251 or call 911 immediately. The community remains hopeful that with public cooperation, Michelle Grace will be found and returned safely to her family.
